The Girls Group is comprised of 7th and 8th graders at Spring Oaks Middle School. As a group, they have been wanting to find ways to give back to those in need. At least once a meeting, the girls ask how they can help others. Mr. Vargas has worked with the Texas Children’s Hospital in the past, and brought up the idea of doing a sock drive. The girls enthusiastically agreed once they heard that the socks would go to children suffering from various illnesses. The girls prepared and delivered a presentation to Mr. Suess who gave his full support to the project. They have been encouraging their classmates and community to donate to the drive, and are excited to deliver the donations to the hospital. As of now we have collected over 500 pairs of socks. Thank you to all who have donated to our charitable cause.
